Laevo Citronellol (or l-Citronellol) is the S-enantiomer of citronellol while Citronellol 98 is the racemic. For most of us that is not particularly important, but what it means in a real world application is that the more expensive nature-identical laevo type is far more beautiful and closer to the scent of rose than regular citronellol which has acessory notes of citrus. This is a prestige aroma chemical and Takasago is the superior manufacturer. We highly recommend it. You can use it one-for-one in place of Citronellol 98 for a more lush result. Laevo-Citronellol blends beautifully with Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, Geraniol Extra, Rose Oxide Laevo, and Rhodinol ex Geranium Bourbon. Laevo-Citronellol is suitable for fine fragrances, detergents and soaps.
