Lake Tag is a pocket-sized Bluetooth smart button that logs a georeferenced observation on your lake's Lake Pulse map with a single press. Your phone stays in your pocket. No app to open, no form to fill out, no photo required. The button pairs to the Lake Pulse app over Bluetooth and stays connected in the background. When you press it, the app grabs the salient data already on your phone — location, time, reporter ID — and drops a tagged observation onto your map. Press patterns (single, double, long-press) map to the categories your lake cares about. Today the alternative is remembering. You spot milfoil in a back cove, tell yourself you'll report it, and by the dock you've lost the exact spot. Or you drop a pin in some other maps app that doesn't talk to Lake Pulse — and now that observation lives in the wrong place until someone transcribes it by hand. Lake Tag closes that gap: the observation lands directly on your Lake Pulse map, at the moment and place you saw it, with nothing to re-key later. Tag anything that looks wrong — a new patch of milfoil, a bloom starting, a collapsing bank, a pipe discharging, a dead fish or bird, a raft or dock that doesn't belong. Tags are signals, not facts. When residents tag the same place, the record's confidence rises through peer confirmation; once it clears your lake's threshold, it's elevated for review, routed to your Lake Admin, and ready for Boathouse follow-up or state reporting.
