How to measure for your laminate installation To measure your room accurately for new flooring, gather a tape measure, a pen, paper, a ruler, and a helpful assistant if possible. The measuring process is the same for carpet, vinyl, luxury vinyl, or safety flooring. Start by drawing a detailed floor plan of the room. Include all doorways, windows, and obstacles like fireplaces, alcoves, or fitted cupboards. Measure the widest part of the room first. Check multiple points across the room to account for uneven walls. Note every measurement wall-to-wall on your plan for accuracy. Measure all alcoves and drop backs. Add an extra 10cm to each measurement to allow for trimming and cuts during the process. Measure deep into doorways. Record the number of doorways to help us calculate the necessary connecting door bars and thresholds. Accurate measurements are vital for a perfect fit. Providing clear details ensures your laminate installation goes smoothly from start to finish. F.A.Q's How long does the fitting process typically take? Fitting time depends on the area size and the specific flooring product. Most projects are completed within one day for your convenience. What should I do to prepare the area for fitting? Please remove all furniture and objects from the area. This allows the laminate fitter to work efficiently and ensures a high-standard finish. Click to see more Frequently Asked Questions!
