The LAMY joy is built for calligraphy and creative lettering. It uses the same ABS body and triangular grip as the safari but with a longer barrel for better balance during the slo wer, more deliberate strokes that calligraphy requires. The italic nibs are available in 1.1mm, 1.5mm and 1.9mm widths. The joy is a genuine calligraphy tool, not a novelty. The italic nibs produce proper thick-thin line variation and the longer body prevents the cramping that standard-length pens cause during extended lettering sessions.
