Originally released on Chess 1979, this is a new reissue. As Kev Roberts notes, this track was a huge hit in the U.K. northern soul scene in the early 1970's, and after a lull has become popular there once again recently. He pegs it at #15 in his list of the 500 greatest Northern Soul singles. This reissue has another fine Northern Soul tune--"Jeanette" by Wade Flemons--on the flip; unfortunately, the pressing of that side is off-center, so be prepared to only play the Tony Clarke side. :-) Show more
