In May of 1994, a teacher on a school trip to the Island stood in the warmth of the spring sunshine in the courtyard of Carisbrooke Castle, counting her class in and out of the giftshop. As she counted, she watched curiously as a woman in a long dark cloak walked her four small dogs on long leashes, seemingly unconcerned by how close they were wandering to a low fence which could easily entangle them. As she wondered how the woman, who she surmised must have been a living history actor, was coping in the heat in such heavy clothing, a child called her name and, as her attention broke, the figure and her dogs simply vanished. It was only as she glanced around to try to catch sight of her again that it occurred to her that she had not been able to make out the woman's face and that, strangely, her steps and those of her dogs had made no sound on the gravel underfoot. Our large ghost figurines measure approximately 8cm tall and are hand-made with care on the Isle of Wight, thought to be the most haunted island in the world. Each ghost is completely unique and features an Isle of Wight shaped base and comes with a story card. Matt finish. Please note that by virtue of the hand-making and finishing process, minor imperfections and colour variations may be present. These are normal and add to the character of each spirit, with each one being a true one-of-a-kind.
