One of the few self-pollinating sweet cherry trees and it also grow in late frost areas. (pronounced lay-pin). It is absolutely beautiful in the spring with soft pink flowers. Deep , dark fruit has a Bing-like shape has a purple-red flesh that is sweet, firm and almost meaty. Originated in Canada. Good overall disease-resistance and crack-resistance. The seven gallon trees cannot be shipped but are 3-5 year old trees. Care To care for cherry trees in Zone 7 (Chattanooga), make sure that they receive plenty of sunlight, have well drained/rich soil and are watered well during especially during the first few years of our dry summer seasons. Prune yearly if needed in late winter and fertilize with organic fertilizer with a low nitrogen fertilizer. Best grown in zones 5-9.
