A particularly large antique wooden bread board, measuring 84cm long and 50cm wide. Made from broad sections of timber, the board has a rectangular form with rounded corners and a short handle pierced for hanging. The surface bears extensive cutting marks, staining and wear from years of use, with the grain of the timber clearly visible throughout. There is an old repair to one corner, together with splits, knocks and further surface marks consistent with its history as a working kitchen object. At 84cm long, this is a substantial example, well suited to display against a kitchen wall, on a large worktop or dresser. Show more
