If you would like to burn firewood we suggest using Kiln dried logs. The low moisture content means they can be used straightaway without the need to season the wood. Charcoal on the other hand is cleaner and releases less smoke than firewood and requires less preparation.The ash should be removed from the fire pit after every use, we recommend cleaning the fire bowl and grill every 4-6 months depending on use.
