With my dubia roaches I go with the width of the roach instead of the length as most breeders do. And my large roach are between 10/12mm in size. “Dubia cockroach” usually refers t o the Blaptica dubia, more commonly called the Dubia cockroach. These insects are native to parts of Central and South America and are widely kept as feeder insects for reptiles and amphibians because of their high nutritional value and ease of care. Dubia cockroaches are medium-sized, growing to about 1.5–2 inches (4–5 cm). They have a dark brown body with lighter markings, and unlike many cockroach species, they are not good climbers and cannot fly (though adult males have wings, they rarely use them). Here are some quick facts: They are quiet, slow-moving, and do not infest homes like pest cockroaches. They prefer warm environments and thrive in temperatures around 25–35°C. They are live-bearing, meaning females give birth to live young instead of laying eggs. They are commonly used as food for reptiles like bearded dragon and gecko species.
