by Robert Patterson Milton, Georgia Robert Pattersons early family were rife with woodworkers and their particular processes, and over the years the two concerns (wood/paper/paint/ ink) gradually merged into this recent series of wood objects. Patterson creates these pieces that consist of mostly wood, some aluminum, copper, leather, cloth, and paper. These objects are processed with dyes, stains, paint, resins, and shellac, though rarely all on one piece. Oil/varnish mixes are then hand applied and hand rubbed for final surface. Roberts unique wood objects have been award-winning ones in some of the most prestigious crafts shows in the country, including the Smithsonian Craft & Design Show and the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show.
