These are large 6 layer chevron trade beads in an oval shape. These red/white/blue glass beads were made for trade in Africa and are called Chevron or star beads. They are the most beautiful, recognizable and collectible of all African "Trade Beads". Glass canes in red, white and cobalt blue were fused together, then cut to reveal these lovely patterns.
