The glaze used on this piece is custom mixed made for firing in a gas kiln at high temperatures with a reduction atmosphere. I finished the glaze in a gloss so it is clean and reuse as plants mature - this also makes the pot lightweight and comfortable to hold. Stoneware fired at high temperatures are known to be very durable - with proper care, this piece can last for centuries. These are great garden pieces made with love and artistry.
