Large vintage inverted oscillating engine

A finely made old oscillating engine, we suspect pre-war from the look of fasteners and overall proportions. What looks like its original paintwork is now faded, although the red a nd dark green livery still shows through clearly. Mechanically it's in good condition, silky smooth to turn over it runs beautifully on a few pounds of air - there's some video of it in the workshop here. Complete with a wooden base, obviously intended to represent the engine room floor - it has steps cut into one side and holes all round which at one time must have carried handrail stanchions. I like this one, it really deserves sympathetic conservation rather than a quick "strip & paint" job. Show more
