Laser Falcon exclusively detects methane, ensuring the absence of erroneous gas identifications. Classified as a class 3R laser, it maintains eye-safe operations. The underlying pr inciple draws from Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy. The laser emits light within the 1.65 μm spectral range. This emitted light reflects back, subsequently captured by the sensor. A comparison between outgoing and incoming signals occurs utilizing the integrated reference cell. Whenever methane resides in the laser's path, a fraction of the laser light is absorbed. An algorithm then computes the gas concentration, measured in ppm×m (parts per million multiplied by meters). This calculated value promptly transmits to both the drone pilot's remote control (RC) and the UgCS software.
