Climbing El Teide (3,715 m), the highest peak of Spain, was one of the most intense and rewarding sunset missions I’ve ever experienced. A 10hr return hike, we often battled intens e winds and in the last 2hrs, trekked through a snowstorm guided by our headlamps. But watching the sunset over a huge ocean of clouds, the sky slowly turning pink, was worth every second of it. Taken on our descent through, the last few minutes of light illuminated the contrasting orange of the Cable Car station. Show more
