The Soyuz Launcher is a compact inline microphone preamp designed to add gain, warmth, and vintage-inspired character to dynamic and ribbon microphones. Rather than focusing on transparent amplification, the Launcher is built to deliver the tonal richness and harmonic color associated with classic analog recording consoles, helping microphones sound fuller and more detailed even when connected to simple audio interfaces or mixers. At the core of the Launcher is a custom hand-wound transformer and proprietary analog circuit, engineered to shape the signal with a distinctive analog character. When placed between a microphone and a preamp or interface, it provides 26 dB of clean gain, allowing low-output microphones to perform at their best while reducing noise in the signal chain. This additional headroom makes it easier to achieve a strong, balanced signal without pushing interface preamps to their limits. Powered by 48V phantom power supplied from the connected preamp or mixer, the Launcher requires no external power supply and integrates easily into existing recording setups. Its simple inline design uses standard 3-pin XLR connections, making it quick to insert anywhere in the signal path between a microphone and recording device. With a frequency response of 10 Hz to 20 kHz, a compact metal enclosure, and a lightweight design, the Launcher is suitable for studio recording, live performance, podcasting, voiceover work, and mobile production. By combining additional gain with transformer-based coloration, it provides a practical way to bring more depth and character to dynamic and ribbon microphones without requiring a large or complex studio setup.
