Sometimes, it’s something that can be picked up on a scan or test by the client’s doctor or specialist referral. And sometimes, it seems the answer to someone's concerns is just always out of reach. When someone's symptoms are multi-faceted, vague or stump clinical expertise, the assessment process transforms from something straightforward and systematic into something far more complex. In this class, we will explore the concept of clinical investigation and its crucial role in working up tricky clients and health concerns so that we can better support them with the appropriate herbs and natural strategies or help them find the right medical care more efficiently. We will introduce methods and strategies for critical thinking, inductive inquiry and the promotion of radical discovery while maintaining the integrity of scientific standards. We will conclude by looking at the role of Western energetics in the investigative process, and consider several cases for practice. She serves as the integrative member of the Lyme & Tick Borne Disease team at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and maintains a small medical practice in Homer, NY where she specializes in complex medical conditions, gender and reproductive care, and herbal & nutritional medicine.
