Lava Snails, also known as Black Devil Snail and Faunus ater, are a species of brackish water snail. They are widespread throughout Southeast Asia. Even though they are naturally f ound in brackish water, they can also live in freshwater aquariums. The lack of salt in freshwater aquariums pretty much guarantees they won't reproduce in your tank. Lava snails prefer a temperature of 71–82° F (22–28° C) and a pH range 7-8.5. Show more
