Lavender Passage is all about that beautiful ribbon of blue-lavender running through the landscape. From the air, I loved the way it creates a passage between the softer areas of p ink, ochre, mauve and gold on either side. The colour caught me first, but once again it was all the smaller details that kept me looking—the patches of vegetation, cracked earth, tiny marks and subtle changes in texture. I particularly love how gentle this image feels. There are no hard boundaries. The colours seem to wash into one another, and the landscape becomes almost impossible to read in the traditional sense. That is what I love about this whole Painted Earth series. From above, nature strips away the familiar and gives me colour, shape and texture instead. Interior Design Suggestions Lavender Passage has a soft, sophisticated palette that would sit beautifully in contemporary interiors.The lavender-blue centre provides a gentle focal point, surrounded by blush, muted gold, dusty pink and warm neutral tones.
