Layer is an exploration of color, light, and tactile memory. Building on her previous work with the Echo series, designer Mariken Steen-Forgaard continues her investigation into ho w colors interact. While her earlier work focused on bold primary colors, Layer introduces a softer, more nuanced palette of secondary tones, inspired by the nostalgic, faded hues of 1970s family photo albums. The design uses shifts in contrast and clever layering to create an illusion of three-dimensional depth within a two-dimensional weave. Made from soft New Zealand wool, the material absorbs light to enhance the warmth of the earthy green, brown, and yellow tones. Finished with generous 8 cm fringes, Layer is a tactile tribute to slow living and domestic comfort. Show more
