Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate — or LECA, because that is much easier to say — is a versatile clay pebble growing medium for plant people who like a little more control over w atering. The porous pebbles absorb moisture and release it gradually, while leaving plenty of air around roots. Use LECA for semi-hydro growing, as a drainage layer in pots without drainage holes, or mix a little into chunky soil blends for extra airflow. A handy one to have around for experimenting with water-loving aroids, plant propagation and fussier houseplants. How to use: Rinse thoroughly before use.
