The Story L-Dis CD-ROM arrived on the PC Engine and studios finally had room to spare. Dual and Masaya spent theirs on voices. L-Dis, April 1991, is a cartoon-bright shooter about a boy named Ta-kun flying a ship called Supaataabo to get his childhood friend You-chan back — and the cast reading those lines included Mayumi Tanaka and Mina Tominaga, with narration by Kei Tomiyama. Even the power-ups are jokes: you shoot small winged yellow creatures to get them. Given more space than they had ever had, they did not make the game louder.
