Featuring footage captured during the real-life 1970 race, Le Mans tells the fictional story of Porsche racing driver Michael Delaney (Steve McQueen). With death and danger seemingly all around, should he quit or go for a Porsche win at Le Mans? The addictive nature of racing portrayed in the film mirrors life. McQueen was obsessed with creating a true racing film and its production took a significant toll on him and those around him. A 2015 documentary, Steve McQueen : The Man and Le Mans, tells this incredible story. This superb candid movie still, showing McQueen explaining a scene to racing drivers Michael Parkes, Gerard Larrousse, Masten Gregory and Dieter Spoerry, would have been snapped by a Unit Still Photographer during production and then used for promotion during the film's release. It is in wonderful condition and has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear Perspex glazing.
