IMPORTER NOTES:OVERVIEW: “Rose-Marie" is a saignee of Merlot from the iconic "Barthelemy" cuvee (produced from their highest-altitude and poorest-soiled site), aged in old demi-muids and dynamized (wherein the lees are painstakingly stirred into the wine according to the lunar cycle, thereby fortifying it against oxidation) for eight months with no additions whatsoever; it is bottled without clarification, filtration, or added sulfur. Rose-Marie pours a deeply bejeweled hue and offers startlingly vivid fruit and incredible complexity on the palate. Le Puy produces but a few hundred six-packs each vintage."ABOUT T HE PRODUCER: “Located on the most prestigious asteries limestone plateau of the Garonne's right bank, known traditionally as the 'Coteau des Merveilles', the Le Puy vineyard grew around a megalithic circle dating from the Bronze age. The Amoreau family have been growing wine here since 1610, with the utmost respect for this ancient ecosystem. From this deep-rooted engagement come gastronomic wines of intense emotion, charged with a unique energy and the promise of happiness.”
