Silver gelatin photograph from the series ‘Nijinsky and the Ecstasy of the Divine’, a collaboration with dancer Aleix Martinez in 2014. The photographs were made in Hamburg Germany. A medium format camera was used with silver gelatin negative film. This photograph is inspired by one of the ballets for which Nijinsky is famous, Le Spectre de la Rose. In this ballet Nijinsky's character is part of a dream, like the wafting scent of a rose, and it said that his lightness of being in this dance was so ethereal it seemed he barely touched the ground.
