A fantastic midcentury cheese plate by French pottery house Vallauris, with a rich and bright majolica finish highlighting the whimsical design of a bamboo sushi mat with scattered grape leaves. Features a centre wrought iron handle. Beautifully preserved and in excellent overall condition. Please note some wear to the base of the handle as pictured. NOTES: This piece is also stamped S.A.P. (Syndicat des Artisans Potiers) a grouping of 40 artisans working in Vallauris town renowned for creative ceramics. The commune shared styles and techniques to create ensemble pieces.
