Learn the art of Japanese embroidery known as Sashiko. In this class you will be introduced to the basic running stitch used to create traditional patterns and designs. We will also cover tools, supplies, threads as well as techniques to transfer patterns while sewing on your own sampler. Materials:You will purchase a pre-printed sampler (choose one of these 3 designs: Seven Treasures, Hemp Leaf, Persimmon Flower). You will also need a long Sashiko needle, a palm thimble (optional) and 2 colors of Sashiko thread. Please purchase your supplies at Cast Away.
