Saturday, November 15th, 10:30am - 3:30pm Join us at Clothyard Fabrics to learn how to make your first t-shirt quilt! In this class, you will supply your favorite t-shirts to make this mini t-shirt quilt. You will learn how to prepare your t-shirts, interface and secure them, and how to assemble the blocks with sashing. You must already know how to sew and be able to use your machine proficiently. Materials: (We will have an ironing station and cutting mat available. Must bring own cutting supplies). 4-6 t-shirts to choose from Sewing machine Thread Measuring tape Pins or binding clips Safety Pins Scissors Rotary cutter Rulers Interfacing: 2 Yards Pellon 911 (White for light t-shirts, Black for dark t-shirts, or 1 yard of each if you have both light and dark t-shirts) Batting: 1 yard Fabric: 2 1/2 yards to coordinate with t-shirts for sashing and backing Pressing Cloth Optional Materials: Basting spray: 505 spray or equivalent 1/2 yard fabric for binding if prefer to bind traditionally HOMEWORK: Wash all t-shirts WITHOUT fabric softener. Iron all fabric PRIOR to class.
