Your child can sort them into groups by colour. Line each colour up one by one on the pegboard. You can help by placing the first row of colours in so your child can match the colours you’ve set. Pushing the pegs in while saying the colour helps children use their muscles to help with memory and retention. Reinforce colours by asking your child to lace a slithering snake of purple pegs or make a tower using orange and blue. Or have each person choose a colour. Then place the pegs in a bag so you can’t see the colours. One by one take turns pulling out a peg. If the colour is a match to yours, place it in the mat.
