Measures 15.5 x 21 inches including the frame. This flag is what is referred to as a “3-2-3-2-3” flag. It represents the original 13 colonies and is quite rare. This pattern was us ed primarily during the Civil War era (1861-1865) and into the late 20th century, particularly for the U.S. Navy’s small boat ensigns. The flag is made of cotton, which looks faded by the sun. It also has some staining. Dates to the 1950s. It is preserved under UV protective, reduced-glare glass and acid-free matting.
