Gas struts eventually lose their internal pressure and fail, especially in extreme temperatures. Friction hinges are purely mechanical, allowing the gate to stay open at any angle (even halfway) without the need for constant maintenance or replacement parts. + How much weight can I mount on the gate panels? The integrated Molle panels are designed for lightweight accessories only. We recommend a maximum weight of 5 lbs total to ensure the hinges and gate structure operate smoothly and safely over time. + Will this fit my older "Classic" Leitner rack? No. The GateKEEPER is only compatible with the Forged generation of racks (ACS Forged, ACS Tonneau, and ACS No Drill/No Slide). The geometry of the older Classic racks is different and will not accept this gate. + How do I get my key matched to my GearPODs?
