German conductor (1912-1996). He is famous as a opera conductor, being his favorite composers Wagner, Strauss, Mozart and twentieth-century composers Carl Orff and Karl Amadeus Har tmann. He succeeded Erich Kleiber in 1956 as conductor for the Teatro Col?n in Buenos Aires.
