Leo De Vroomen For over 50 years, Dutch goldsmith Leo De Vroomen and British jewellery designer and artist Ginnie De Vroomen, have been creating innovative, iconic jewellery. Born in Holland during the Second World War, Leo was the youngest of eight siblings. From an early age he dreamed of a more artistic life, a world away from farming the family tulip business. Following his apprenticeship in The Hague and qualifying as a Master Goldsmith in Switzerland he came to London in 1965. While lecturing at the Central School of Art and Design he met his wife, design partner and muse. Their successful relationship was the foundation of De Vroomen Design. The company rapidly expanded and the distinctive De Vroomen style gained international reputation. Their strong sculptural forms encapsulate elegance and sophistication using gold, gemstones, enamel and pearls, each piece a rich statement of art and design. De Vroomen jewels, are fabricated with an uncompromising approach to both design and craftsmanship. The minimum use of diamonds, showcases Leo’s exquisite goldsmith work with bold color stones, cloisonne and champleve enamels.
