It is a popular variety of the species Pterophyllum scalare and is admired for its elegant fins and distinctive markings. Appearance: Dark silver to black body covered with many small black spots that create a leopard-like pattern. It has long triangular fins and a tall graceful body shape. Size: Can grow up to about 6 inches (15 cm) long and appears taller because of its fins. Tank Requirements: Freshwater aquarium with a temperature of 75–82°F (24–28°C). Recommended tank size is at least 20–30 gallons with plants and calm water. Temperament: Generally peaceful but may be slightly territorial.
