This is a brand new book from Anita Brandon, that will take you (or your student) from being able to play what is written in the hymnal, to improvising hymns at an early intermedia te level. Anita is very thorough with building a solid foundation and uses the same tried and true multi-sensory techniques that she uses in the Let's Start Music Series. This is a probably the best book I have found for someone who is new to improvising to start with. If you are considering Hymnprovisation, but are not already adept at sight reading, basic theory and at least some ability to play by ear, you might want to start here and then build on this book later, with Hymnprovisation. 149 pages with many illustrations.
