Original publisher's 1/4 vellum over blue buckram covered boards with titles and decoration stamped in gilt to front cover, and titles stamped in gilt to spine for what is a wonderful copy of the book. Original publisher's blue pattered paper over board slipcase, with printed paper label with hand-inked number matching the number of the book, with sun-fading to spine, and rubbing and wear to the extremities, is completely intact and still quite nice. Plain endpapers. [1-8], 9-70 pp. Printed on hand-made paper, the book features thirty-one children's poems by Agnew; illustrated by Shepard with over fifty black and white drawings, silhouettes and vignettes, including a fully illustrated title page and thirteen full page drawings. The condition of the book is FINE. The condition of the original publisher's slipcase is VERY GOOD.
