Level 1 + Level 2 Rigging Certification Course
Save $400 when you purchase Level 1 Rigger and Level 2 Advanced Rigging Together. Taught by an accomplished crane instructor and Rigger Certifier, the Rigging Fundaments, Level 1 R igger Certification Assessment and Level 2 Rigger Certification Course combines in-class content with practical experience. The Level 1 + Level 2 Rigger Training Bundle includes: Day 1: Rigging Fundamentals CourseDay 2: Level 1 Rigger Certification AssessmentDay 3: Level 2 Advanced Rigging Course Students receive classroom theory and hands on practical training including calculating load weights, finding load center of gravity, rigging loads and making actual crane lifts giving direction to the crane operator. The goal of the Level 1 + Level 2 training program is to equip you for a safe career as a knowledgeable and confident rigger or rigging supervisor. DAY 1 - RIGGING FUNDAMENTALS COURSE Crane and hoisting hand signals Load-weight estimation Locating a load’s centre of gravity Rigging hardware and appropriate uses Rigging equipment inspection and rejection criteria Using rigging tables to select appropriate equipment Sling-angle and capacity calculations Care and storage of rigging equipment Common hazards around cranes and overhead hoists Lift planning and advanced-rigging awareness Practical load-rigging exercises Safe communication with crane operators Participants who successfully complete the Rigging Fundamentals Course receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Completion Digital Wallet Card, valid for three years. DAY 2 - LEVEL 1 RIGGER CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT The Assessment May Include Inspecting rigging equipment Selecting appropriate slings and hardware Determining or confirming load weight Locating a load’s centre of gravity Selecting an appropriate hitch configuration Calculating sling angles and capacities Rigging and controlling a load Communicating with a crane operator Recognizing common lifting hazards Completing practical lifting exercises Successful candidates receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Competence Digital Wallet Card, valid for five years. DAY 3 - LEVEL 2 ADVANCED RIGGING COURSE The eight-hour Level 2 Advanced Rigging Course builds on the skills developed during Rigging Fundamentals. The course combines advanced classroom theory with hands-on training using real loads and lifting equipment. Participants learn how to calculate and rig more complex loads, prepare lift plans, determine sling tensions and safely use below-the-hook lifting devices. Completion of Fulford’s Rigging Fundamentals, or proof of a comparable program, is required before taking Advanced Rigging. Morning – Theory Training The morning session provides the knowledge required to understand and apply advanced rigging practices. Complex Load Calculations Calculate complex load weights Determine the combined centre of gravity of complex loads Sling-Tension Review Calculate sling tensions for symmetrically rigged loads Use sling-capacity charts Confirm that selected rigging equipment is correctly sized Non-Symmetrical Sling-Tension Calculations Calculate each sling’s share of the load Calculate sling tensions for off-centre loads Calculate sling tensions for loads with unequal attachment heights Below-the-Hook Devices Inspection and correct use of: Spreader bars Lifting beams Plate clamps Suspended Work Platforms Regulatory requirements Equipment considerations Safe rigging procedures Electrical Safety for Riggers Limits of approach for exposed electrical equipment Understanding how electricity behaves following contact How to move safely away from energized equipment Participants also work through examples and practical rigging scenarios to prepare for the afternoon exercises. Afternoon – Hands-On Training The afternoon session applies the theory covered during the morning using available loads and lifting devices. Participants will: Calculate the weight of a complex load Determine the load’s centre of gravity Create a lift plan Select and inspect appropriate rigging equipment Rig the load and calculate sling tensions Confirm that the rigging is correctly sized Execute the lift according to the lift plan Inspect a spreader bar or lifting beam Rig and lift a load using a spreader bar or lifting beam Inspect a plate clamp Rig and lift a load using a plate clamp Participants who successfully complete the course receive a Level 2 Advanced Rigger Certificate of Completion Digital Wallet Card , valid for three years. Level 2 Certificate of Competence The Level 2 Advanced Rigging Course provides a Certificate of Completion. It does not automatically provide a Level 2 Certificate of Competence. Successful assessment candidates receive a Level 2 Advanced Rigger Certificate of Competence Digital Wallet Card , valid for five years. The Assessment May Include: Inspecting rigging equipment Selecting appropriate slings and hardware Determining or confirming load weight Locating a load’s centre of gravity Selecting an appropriate hitch configuration Calculating sling angles and capacities Rigging and controlling a load Communicating with a crane operator Recognizing common lifting hazards Completing practical lifting exercises Successful candidates receive a Advanced Rigger Certificate of Competence Digital Wallet Card, valid for five years, and Advanced Rigger hardhat sticker.
