This advanced-level course is designed for students with a strong foundation in both pattern making and garment construction who are ready to refine their technical skills and tackle more challenging garment projects. Students will explore complex pattern transformations, advanced design development techniques, and professional construction methods while creating garments that require a high level of precision and craftsmanship. The course focuses on advanced pattern manipulation and garment development for cocktail dresses, corsets, and bridesmaid dresses, with an emphasis on achieving exceptional fit, design accuracy, and quality construction. Prerequisites Students must meet all of the following requirements: Successful completion of Complete Pattern Making Course – Level 2, or equivalent experience Strong sewing skills and confidence in garment construction Ability to work independently with basic block patterns and pattern transformations What You'll Learn Advanced and intricate pattern transformation techniques Advanced fitting methods and pattern corrections Corset pattern drafting and construction principles Couture-inspired sewing and finishing techniques Professional garment assembly and construction methods Industry-standard finishing techniques for a polished appearance Materials Required Students must bring their own basic block patterns and all required sewing and pattern-making tools. Additional specialty materials and fabrics may be required depending on individual project selections and will be discussed during the course.
