Originally bred in the 1950s, in the USA, 'Liberty' produces lovely dark red apples with a well-balanced, refreshing flavour that nestles nicely between sweet and tart. Boasting br illiant resistance to major apple problems, like scab, fire blight and powdery mildew, 'Liberty' is a variety you can rely upon to stay happy and healthy. Growing to just a few metres tall, this tree (which is grafted onto a semi-dwarfing rootstock) is ideal for small or medium-sized gardens that only have the room for one fruit tree. An easygoing tree, 'Liberty' reliably produces good crops of sumptuous fruit, but if your crops are appearing on the lighter side, you can always use some general fertiliser in early spring.
