It is a faithful re-edition of the chair Pierre Jeanneret designed in the early 1950s for the reading rooms and libraries of Chandigarh's civic and government buildings. The back is made from solid teak. The seat is square-woven by hand from natural cane in the original 1950s style. The frame has the characteristic X-cross silhouette that reads as foldable but is fixedm which gives it a characteristic design. The chair suits a dining table, a desk, a library, a restaurant, or a meeting room.
