Remember when the road ahead felt like a endless possibility? While traveling through Utah's Mighty Five National Parks, I came across this abandoned truck resting quietly in a roadside field. Something about it made me stop. Though weathered by years of sun, wind, and time, it still carried the spirit of every mile it had traveled. In my Reclaimed Series I am drawn to objects and places that have been weathered but never diminished. Once built for purpose and adventure, this truck now stands as a quiet reminder that every journey leaves its mark, and every mile becomes part of the story. Back in my studio, I recreated the scene in colored pencil, carefully layering color to capture the faded paint, rust, and textures shaped by time. This museum-quality archival giclée faithfully reproduces the original colored pencil artwork, preserving its rich detail, texture, and color. Life's Road Trip was received an Honorable Mention in Teravarna's 11th Landscape International Juried Competition.
