By exposing ourselves to bright blue light in the morning - we allow the body to maximise alertness and productivity during the day. However higher levels of lumens (i.e. blue light) in the evening suppresses melatonin production making it more difficult to fall asleep. By lowering the lumens to a warmer yellow / orange temperature, melatonin production is naturally encouraged and in turn leads to better quality sleep.
