A gorgeous sky-blue vintage chirimen silk komon kimono with a profusion of simple white grape (budō) leaf motifs creating a striking all-over print. Grape leaves became a popular motif adopted from Persian and West Asian influences that came from Silk Road trade via China during the Han dynasty. This contemporary patterned design has a white silk lining with a aqua silk hakkake (the inner cuff and hem of the lining) and is in excellent unmarked condition. Komon, literally ko (small) mon (pattern) are casual kimono worn for going out or casual gatherings that often have a small all-over print, but may also have stripes, checks or larger all over patterns.
