Matthews 24x36" Lighting Control Kit Experience complete control over your lighting with the Matthews 24x36" Lighting Control Kit. This professional-grade collection has been carefully created for photographers and filmmakers who value top-notch quality and adaptability. Each of the included modifiers measures 24x36 inches, providing you with the precise tools needed to master any shooting situation. Matthews Open End Scrim, 24x36" - Black (149063), Double Black (149064) & White Artificial (149566) Open End Frames are made of spring steel with a 3/8" pin and support which can be used to hang the Scrim from a C Stand handle when not in use. The two upright arms of the frame are slotted at the two open ends to retain the piano wire woven through the fabric to make up the fourth side of the frame without causing a shadow. Open Ends are used to control or manipulate light falling on certain areas of the set or subject. They can be used to soften or reduce light without a noticeable edge. A color coded binding is used around the frame to identify the fabric. Matthews Open End Frames are black powder coated to minimize unwanted reflections. All 24" x 36" Open End Scrims weigh 1.5lbs. Matthews Black Flag, 24x36" (169062) Newly designed 90 degree Flag and Cutter frames will make it possible to position the instrument over the top of the set wall or to use two or more units to create a box for better light control. With this new design, there are now three square corners as opposed to the older design providing just two. In addition, the 48"x48" frames have been squared off with the removal of the mouse ears. Flags are square or rectangular frames with mounting pins attached and covered with a solid cloth material. They are used to control light, whether natural or artificial. Flags can be used to protect the camera lens from flares or to control spill light from other sources, or to keep light from reaching certain areas on the set. Known as Flags up to sizes 24"x36", larger or more irregular sizes are referred to as Cutters. Floppies are Cutters which have an extra layer of material sewn to one edge and held in place with Velcro until needed at which time the Flag or Cutter becomes twice its original size. Use the number with a (B) after it for Bottom Hinge and the number with a (T) after to specify Top Hinge. See Pin configuration illustration shown below. All Matthews Scrims and Flags are bordered with heavy duty color coded webbing. The 24" x 36" Open End Scrim weighs 3 lbs. Matthews Cello Cucoloris, 24x36" (199102) The Cucoloris is used to create shadow patterns on backgrounds or subjects. A flat lit wall can be broken up into interesting pools of light and shadow. Lighting directors frequently use them to simulate sunlight filtering through trees. While the wood "cookies" create a distinctive pattern, the Cello "cookie" projects a more subtle pattern. The pattern itself depends on the distance of the light source and the distance to the background. The 24"x36" Cello PN 199102 weighs 1.75lbs. Matthews Wood Cucoloris, 24x36" (189094) The Cucoloris is used to create shadow patterns on backgrounds or subjects. A flat lit wall can be broken up into interesting pools of light and shadow. Lighting directors frequently use them to simulate sunlight filtering through trees. While the wood "cookies" create a distinctive pattern, the Cello "cookie" projects a more subtle pattern. Matthews Flag/Scrim Storage Bag (309302) The Matthews Flag Bags or Scrim Storage Bags are made of 1000 denier polyester fabric exterior shell with a heavy duty zippered closure and carrying handles. The inside is lined with a corrugated plastic to protect the contents and provide stiffness. The interior corrugated liner is replaceable and the bag is provided with one divider of the same material. Additional dividers are available. The Flag Bags will hold eight to ten Flags each. The Scrim Bags hold five.
