Get rid of urine scale inside PVC pipes The Light Duty Mini Chain is a must when working inside small diameter PVC or other soft material pipes that demand a lot of flexibility from your tools. It can basically navigate anywhere you can get the flexible shaft. This Light Duty Chain offers great power to pulverize urine scale into fine fragments while being gentle to the pipe itself. When navigating inside the smallest pipes like 32mm (1¼”), the risk of chain getting snagged is usually higher. To avoid this, we recommend keeping the drill spinning during retraction. This allows the chain to bounce off bends and eventually safely to your toolkit. Obstacles in the way? Attach a drill head! If you want more power to clear the obstacles in the way and make enough room for the chain knockers. We recommend having a standalone drill head in your toolkit. It can be attached in front of the chain knocker to clear the path for you and the chain will do its job right behind it! Please note that the drill heads will make the combination a little bit less flexible. Also, the drill heads have small cutting bits in front so you don't want the drill head front to be drilling any pipe walls to avoid any potential damage. How does it perform compared to other chain knocker options? In comparison this Mini Chain option offers maximum flexibility navigating everywhere where the flex shaft is able to with a cost of a little bit slower descaling speed than 1-Chained or 2-Chained options. The Mini Chain is an excellent choice when working with very small diameter pipes and/or you need very small chain to clear way for the bigger ones. When looking for slightly less flexibility and more descaling speed from the chain, we recommend considering the 1-Chained or 2-Chained option. Like all the other Light Duty Chains, this Mini Chain option does not have any kind of hard metal (carbide) tips like Medium or Heavy Duty Chain Knockers do. This minimizes the risk of damaging the pipe's interior, making them the ideal choice for cleaning & descaling tasks in PVC, ABS, PEX, Copper and other fragile/soft pipes.Light Duty Chains are also a great option when a pipe made from tougher material is in considerably rough condition (cracks etc) and you don't want to take any risks. So, if you want you can also use these chains in Cast Iron pipes as well. While we recommend this chain knocker for soft material pipes like PVC, please always check the overall condition of the pipe to avoid any damage. If you are unsure if the pipe will withstand the Light Duty Chain Knocker, please choose even more gentle option like Gentle Duty Brushes. Medium Duty Mini Chains: These chains are designed for hard metal pipes like Cast Iron. Our most aggressive descaling chain knocker, but slightly less durable than Heavy Duty Chains. Do not use Medium Duty Chains inside PVC or other soft material pipes as it will most likely damage the pipe very quickly. Heavy Duty Mini Chains: Made with durability in mind. They pack slightly less aggressive descaling power than Medium Duty Chain Knockers but offer a great middle ground between Light Duty and Medium Duty. We do not recommend using Heavy Duty in PVC or other soft material pipes. Although we have clients who told us that they use Heavy Duty sometimes in toughest situations inside soft material pipes.
