The clay itself is light gray with a clear glaze over it. This one was a ~learning experience.~ I wedged light purple pigment into a white clay to turn the whole clay purple, but the kiln had other ideas. I then hand rolled it into a slab using a rolling pin, traced, measured and cut out each piece before assembling it to make the wall altar. Once the altar is dry I fire it in the kiln, then brush it with a clear glaze, and fire it again to make the final product. The small wall altar is a perfect place to display your mementos, keepsakes, and knickknacks. Hang with a nail and a command strip (to help it hang straight) Dimensions: about 7in high x 4.25in across x 2in deep The color can be hard to capture in a photo. If you would like more photos or videos please dm me on instagram: alainakayeceramics or email me at [email protected] and I'd be happy to share some! All sales are final so please be sure to reach out if you are unsure of the color. If you want to see a piece in person, I will be at Bolm Arts for Austin Studio Tours Nov 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th 12pm-5pm.
