Mains Powered With Wireless SignallingThe sensor uses a mains supply and transmits its commands by radio to compatible Light Symphony equipment. There are no sensor batteries to replace, but the power connection still requires electrical installation.Its black housing and pale detection lens are mounted on an adjustable assembly. The manufacturer lists IP55 protection and adjustment horizontally and vertically to help aim the detection area. How Timing and Dusk Settings WorkThe lighting on-time can be adjusted from 1 to 15 minutes. Sensitivity and dusk adjustment allow the installer to tune the response and avoid unwanted daytime lighting operation.The sensor is designed not to cancel lights that have already been switched on manually. More than one compatible PIR can be incorporated into the system when different approaches require detection.PIR detection depends on the installation and surrounding activity. Where It Works BestA PIR suits an area where you want movement detection without mounting a pair of facing beam heads. The practical detection coverage should be established on site around the doorway, path or approach.Where a sharply defined crossing point is more appropriate, the Driveway Beam Sensor offers a different detection method. It is worth choosing between them according to the route and possible sources of unwanted activation. Part of the Wider Lighting SchemeThe PIR triggers the system; it does not replace the controllers connected to the lighting circuits. Those outputs still need to be correctly specified for the fittings.Light Symphony lists a wireless range of up to 1,000 metres in clear line of sight.
