In Disa Rytt’s new works, however, what remains unexposed becomes equally significant. The white surface of the paper does not appear as empty space but asserts a material presence; like the blue areas, it functions as an active component of the composition. Rather than presenting a fixed structure, the lines and intervals move within a field of tension in which light both leaves its trace and withdraws. Through subtle shifts in transparency, a grid gradually emerges. Within this, a visual logic unfolds in which perception oscillates between structure and dissolution, between the visible and that which is withheld by light itself.
