LightPro Studio Curve Corner 600 Radius - Reinforced
It’s sometimes called a cyc background, cyc wall, or infinity wall. This walled background incorporates one or more curved surfaces. They’re used to making it look like there’s no end. All corners are seamless. If done well, it’s impossible to tell where the floor ends and the wall begins. LightPro Studio Curve Corner: • It does not require framing. • Is reinforced plasterboard. • It can be installed DIY, but for the professional seamless finish, we highly recommend getting us to install it. In still photography or video production, this helps make your background almost ‘disappear,’ leaving a ton of possibilities for lighting. This is great for commercials, giving the products full attention, or when using a green screen. Best Uses for System Super green screen &/or video studios where consistent lighting and superior sound characteristics are important photography studios that require consistent lighting to achieve an infinity effect Typical Users: TV/video/green screen production studios In-house corporate video/green screen production studios Photographers with small-to-medium studio environments The studio curve corner helps you create a seamless curve between your studio walls. It is a plaster curve designed to be built into a studio to give you an infinity curve or to remove the appearance of corners. Engineered for Elite Studios, Trusted by Industry Leaders The LightPro Studio Curve Corner 600 Radius completely eradicates the compromises inherent in traditional set building. In high-stakes production environments—where every stray shadow or minute audio reflection can ruin a perfect take—this reinforced architectural unit delivers a geometrically flawless 600mm transition from wall to floor. Designed specifically for state-of-the-art closed-set studios, top-tier commercial shoots, and high-end chroma key stages, it guarantees an absolute infinity effect that makes the physical set disappear entirely. By removing harsh right angles, it ensures perfectly even edge-to-edge light distribution, completely neutralizing light spill and eliminating the time-consuming need to flag or shape light around corners. Constructed from ultra-durable reinforced plasterboard, this unit boasts rugged structural integrity capable of withstanding the punishing demands of back-to-back 12-hour studio cycles. Unlike inferior cyc systems, the LightPro Studio Curve requires absolutely no underlying framing, streamlining installation without sacrificing weight-bearing reliability. Its dense structural composition also provides superior acoustic damping, controlling unwanted reverberations and elevating the sound characteristics essential for pristine dialogue capture in major television and commercial motion picture workflows. When industry leaders and elite directors of photography demand a pristine, unbroken canvas, they turn to this exacting infrastructure. The LightPro Studio Curve Corner is more than a set-building accessory; it is a permanent upgrade to your studio’s underlying architecture, engineered to empower limitless lighting possibilities and support the uncompromising creative vision of world-class cinematographers. Uncompromised Technical Specifications Geometric Radius: Precisely engineered 600mm radial sweep for mathematically flawless light fall-off and total shadow elimination. Professional Integration FAQ How does this corner piece affect ambient bounce and light distribution across a large-scale set? By eliminating 90-degree spatial breaks, the sweeping 600mm radius ensures photometric seamlessness, allowing wide-throw fixtures and high-output arrays to wash the set uniformly without pooling or generating hard-edge micro-shadows. Can the structural integrity withstand heavy grip equipment or set dressing moving across the floor transition? Yes, the component is cast from premium reinforced plasterboard, providing exceptional rigidity that resists compression or cracking when trafficked by crews, camera dollies, or substantial set pieces. Does the frameless design compromise the long-term stability of an active commercial cyclorama? Not at all; the frameless architecture creates a seamless, monolithic bond with existing studio walls, distributing stress evenly and preventing the micro-fractures often associated with wood-framed cyc structures fluctuating under temperature shifts. How does the material composition interact with standard studio chroma key or ultra-matte lighting paints? The ultra-smooth, reinforced surface is explicitly engineered to accept and hold highly pigmented studio paints uniformly, ensuring there is zero texture variance or color shift when illuminated by advanced bi-color or RGBWW lighting matrices. Installation FAQ Does it need a timber sub-frame? No. Panels fix directly to the existing wall and concrete floor — no framing required, which makes installation faster and cheaper than a traditional built cyc. How do I work out how many panels I need? Measure the width of each wall and divide by 1m for curve panels (0.5m for corner pieces). If you're unsure, Dragon Studio Solutions can provide a 3D layout and panel count for your space. How does the corner installation work with the curve panels? The LightPro vertical corner piece goes in first, then the 1m curve panels run up the wall from there. Both are flushed into the wall and floor the same way, so the transition between walls reads as one continuous curve. What fixes the panels to the wall and floor? Self-drilling screws for steel-frame walls, timber screws for timber-frame walls, and concrete anchors for slab floors. Two to three fixings per panel is typical. Does it just go on with cornice cement? No — panels are screwed to the wall frame/floor first so they don't move while the compound dries. Cornice cement (Knauf Finalcoat) is used afterward to tape, fill, and finish the joins. What's the best way to cut the panels if needed? A hand saw. What creates the seamless, shadowless look? The flush finish, not just the curve shape. Fibre mesh tape goes over every join, Knauf Finalcoat is applied and feathered 150–200mm either side, two to three coats are built up over the entire face, then finished with a final sand and checked under a raking (low-angle) light for any remaining bumps. What paint should I use? Three coats of Arctic white studio-grade paint over one coat of plasterboard primer. Standard household white paint will compromise the shadow-free finish — studio Arctic white has a specific reflectance value engineered for even lighting. How long does dispatch/delivery take? Normally two to three days to ship once ordered. Freight for curve panels is quoted separately after ordering, so allow lead time before your installation date. Can I install it myself? The panels can be self-installed since no framing is required, but we recommend professional installation for the most seamless finish — the taping, multiple compound coats, sanding, and correct paint are what make or break the shadowless look.
